Since the female came from my stock, so I know how big she is, I would expect her to produce a small clutch the first year, and I made a deal with Ms. Brown that I get one of next year’s males. It looks like there will be more Mexican Bairds around in the coming years. I have both Texan's and Mexican's and they are all great looking snakes.

Thanks to all the folks who posted photos. They show that you don't need some strange looking color morph to have animals that make you want to stop and admire their beauty.

Excuse me while I put my shades on.........lol. That's a fine looking animal. It's hard to find ANY SNAKE that will beat a big nice bairdi when it comes to coloration that really beams. Good luck on your breeding project.

That's an awesome bairdi Steve. Did you produce any babies with that one this year. Randy

Steve G Nov 02, 2006 07:11 PM

Randy...........No babies from this guy yet. I do have a couple of females that will be ready next year. One is kind of dark with bold striping. I'm thinking she is of Davis Mountain origin........nothing special. The other is from a pair that I got from Terry Parks awhile back supposedly from Texas 377 locale. The female is a very light gray with very light striping. She is definitely unusual, as she has minimal orange. The male of this pair has orange and that salmon red popping out big time. I haven't made a decision yet who will breed this 377 female. I'm always looking for an unbred female that is worthy of my big male in the pic. Here is an older pic of my big bad boy. The orange and reds just seem to ooze out of him the older he gets!
