Ultrasounds for BP's - Gel Transducers?

jsargent Nov 02, 2006 12:12 PM

Is anyone out there using "gel" type ultrasound transducers to measure follicular development in female Ball Pythons? I have seen the submersible transducers work but would like to hear if the Gel system works as well. Any experience?? Thanks. Jim

Works like a charm. I prefer this method. I find that scanning longitudinally along the back bone works best with this method.

Thanks for the follow-up Grant. I will give that technique a try on some of my bigger females. I have an Acuson 128. I was told by an ultrasound salesman that this machine cost near $100K
brand new back in the mid-eighties.
