skudlord Nov 02, 2006 08:09 PM

What is the deal with these boas? I am trying to find some info on this line of Redtail but no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The "deal" is just what you said. They are redtails (ie. BCCs) they come from Northern Brazil below French Guyana, Suriname, and Guyana. What exactly are you looking for? Do you know what a BCC is? These are not a "line" of anything, they are a locality range specific Boa Constrictor Constrictor. They are quite beautiful sometimes with big peaks. Exacly what information are you lo9kking for?

I am wondering if these snakes are worth investing in. There is not much info on the net about them. Are they rare? I have been looking to get a Redtail for a while now but I was leaning toward a Suriname or Guyana. I have seen some North Brazilians that are Powder Blue or Lavender which made them gorgeous snakes. Just would like to know if they are a coveted creature in the snake world and where can I find more information about them.

They are more rare than Surinamese or Guyanese BCCs but they don't seem to be any more expensive because of that. Same with the French Guyanese, even more rare but not more expensive. I'm not sure I would consider buying snakes as an investment at all, unless it's a real high end snake like a paradigm, and even then it could die, or could fail to reproduce etc. If you love the snake because it's blue/lavender, then by all means get some. If you're looking for a real investment, maybe you should look elsewhere. I don't know where you can get more information on them really either.

Good luck,
Caden

He has produced more North Brazilians than anyone I know. He was at the Indy Expo this past weekend and I had the pleasure of getting to see his North Brazilians as well as all of his other killer animals. He indeed had the best locality boas there. He's produced the N. Brazilians three times now and can tell you whatever you would like to know about them. He's been breeding snakes for over 25 years and definitely knows boas.

Take care and hopes this helps!

Thanks for the info. I am looking to buy a sweet looking female and would like to buy her a mate, maybe from Bill.
