thanks for the input, I usually am the first guy to just say its a normal (and take certain joy in privately mocking the "is this a morph?" posts). I mean there is no yellow or brown whatsoever on here. I will get better pics up soon.
and about breeding it. arent different lines of axanthics incompatable? how would i tell what line is what
just havent done much research with this morph, i was just adding a 5th female for my spider and pastel males and this little gem popped out.
It certainly does appear to have a good chance at being a genetic axanthic, and most likely it will be simple recessive if it is inheritable.
The good thing is that it's a girl, raise her up to breeding size, breed her to a morph(might as well if you got a male morph to do the job, otherwise a normal works), keep the clutch, and the next year breed a male back to her, if it is inheritable you should have a 50/50 chance of each egg being an axanthic. Also, with the rest of the clutch, you can breed a pair of her offspring together for a 25% chance per egg, or breed them to some of the known lines to try and prove compatibility.
Hope this helps,
Dan
yea, that is what i kinda was thinking on doing. (sure would be great when i breed her to my spider, and then breed her spider male offspring back her, and end up with axanthic spiders, muhahahahhahaha)
if she proves out thad be one hell of a deal for 100 bucks. If not it still is 1200 gram wc female.
on that subject, what procedures are standard when quarantining her. Any store bought mite/tick removal stuff? (she does have a few ticks i may remove with alcohol?) and what about internal parasites?
more opinions paweeeeese
You will get more replies if you attach the pics to your post instead of another site. I am at work and can not view your pics.
