In theory, when you breed a DH Bloody Salmon to a DH Bloody Salmon, 2 out of 3 of the normals will be het. for Blood. These 3 below are from the same litter and are posted on our site. Which one would you guess is not het. for Blood?

#1 Normal 66% poss. het. Blood

#2 Normal 66% poss. het. Blood

#3 Normal 66% poss. het. Blood

I didn't guess 3 because of the little tail stripe..
and not #1 because its just so cool looking!

Number 3 is not a het. Numbers 1 and 2 have more of that Blood Red look in their tails. Just a hunch...

If you go by the eye technique that Jeff Ronne described awhile back, then #3 is not a het. The other two Boas definately have the eye thing going on. That light, kind of platinum look to the eye.

Things always get cloudy, just before transformation.

I don't know, I wasn't impressed by the "marker" (although I very much am by his cages!) mainly because i've seen a ton of normals have this "mark".

Anyway, going on with the theory that that is the marker he said it is for albino.. I don't know if it'd be diverse enough of a marker to show a het blood as well.

Thank you for the responses. While we dont know for sure, its interesting to hear the different theories. Some feel that #1 and #3 are hets. because of the circleback pattern, while others feel #1 and #2 are hets. because of the red in the pattern. It will be interesting to see the outcome when these little guys grow up and reproduce!
