What do you do with the mealworms that turn into beetles? I wouldnt want to breed the mealworms, so im a bit stuck.

Toss em'.

FireTalon Nov 03, 2006 02:02 PM

in the bin?! alive?! *shivers*

FireTalon Nov 03, 2006 03:10 PM

if they do go in the bin, wouldn't they fly out or crawl out? I can imagine my sister or mum having a fit when a huge beetle flies out of the bin! lol :P

Toilet? Freezers work wonders, too. Or you can send them to me, since my stupid meal worms are to lazy to transform.

FireTalon Nov 03, 2006 03:19 PM

lol, funny if they dont completely go down the loo, then you fing this beetle swimming in ur toilet!lol non-transforming mealworms sounds great(for me) if I eventually have a leo, i'll get one of my beetles to fly over to california lol

I guess I spoke too soon. I just found my first pupae! Yayyyyyy.

FireTalon Nov 03, 2006 03:52 PM

lol good for you! my mum would probably not let me breed them, shes scared of maggots so mealworms everywhere wouldn't be a good idea, lol! and i'm also guessing that mealworms are easier to get out, i think crickets would just take a jump for freedom! and one would probably land in my hair! (not verry nice...)

I just have my mealies a tuperware bin full of oats. They're content eating the potatoes, and I would assume eating the oats as the bottom is rather dusty.

Dispatch them via the "compression method" and throw away.

FireTalon Nov 03, 2006 03:31 PM

"compression method"?? lol

SnakesAndStuff Nov 03, 2006 04:52 PM

"compression method" = "smush them"
