honduran milksnake

Dfrieden Nov 03, 2006 07:09 PM

I recently purchased a honduran milksnake and he acts very nervous. When i got him i had read up a lot about them and knew that the babies were often nervous and flighty. The first time i held him he bit me and always musks on me now. I have a lot of trouble just handling him because of the way he moves. I have already almost lost him once. When i hold him he jerks around and his neck twiches and he acts calm and then almost jerks out of my hand. I also have a grey-banded kingsnake (who is the calmest snake i've ever seen) so this isn't my first snake. How do i hold him without losing him? I also don't know how to try feeding him because he won't even look at it when i hold it. Do I need to put him in a cup or a bag to feed him? I am not feeding him in his tank I am feeding him in a seperate container. He is very scared of me and I am worried he won't calm down over time. Any advice would be appreciated.
