Getting into Pits

toad112081 Nov 03, 2006 10:30 PM

Hello everyone! I'm looking to get back into pits. (Just not sure what to get first!) The 2nd snake I ever owned was a female northern pine and she was awesome. All kinds of attitude until you picked her up and then she was fine. I wanted to see if the majority of keepers on here use racks or cages or both? Just trying to decide what I should pick up or build. Thanks in advance for responses!!

Keep mine in tanks for now, but am looking to upgrade to Vision Cages. I have 2 WC female Gophers (Pac. & GB)that are just the best snakes in the world. Looking to breed them in a couple of years.

They'll do fine either way. I never had problems with them in rack systems. I did have one really large bullsnake that would rub his nose but in a glass cage he did the same. He constantly cruised and rubbed, nervously. He was a handfull. He never bit but he postured, lunged, hissed even when picked up. He'd acutally bump you in a mock strike with his mouth closed.

He was a c.b. and raised animal.
