Rope Lights

hevychevy427 Nov 04, 2006 08:40 AM

Would rope lights in an enclosure put off enough heat along with an under tank heating pad to keep the ambient temp above 70 in a 4foot x 2foot x 18 inch high enclosure?
The under tank pad that came with the enclosure is not sufficient. My Snake does not spend the time in the hid where the pad is . She is always on the cold side. The cold side is too cold. I want to raise the temp in the entire enclosure.
Thanks
Nancy

BUT, if your snake is always on the cool side, you need to get an accurate reading directly over the hot spot. Use an accurate thermometer. I would suggest either a temperature gun or a digital thermometer. If you are measuring the air temps, it is not an accurate reading. And those little round thermometers can be kind of inaccurate sometimes.
