Diarrhea??

renland Nov 04, 2006 12:09 PM

Today I awoke to the most foul smell, and found my adult male corn's tub full of diarrhea. I have had him for a while now, and he has always been healthy--normal sheds, defecations, and never missed a meal. He is housed in a room that also has ball pythons, but this has been since I got him. The only thing I can think of is that on Sunday (feeding day) I gave him a mouse that was slightly bigger than what he was previously receiving. It did leave a significant bump in him. Yesterday he had a normal defecation, but it was super tiny, and I did noticed him immersing himself in his water tub which is unusual. Could the prey item have been inappropriate and caused his digestive upset? I have him isolated from the rest of my collection as a precaution, and I do have a vet appointment scheduled for Tuesday morning. Thanks for any unput, good, bad, or ugly.

....okay, he just pooped again, but this time it was normal, albeit small. I'm still watching him, but I guess that I'll take it as a good sign.

Just to be safe check the temps and make sure all is well.
Fluctuations in temps can cause these problems.

The way you talk about the smell makes me think that it is a regurg rather than diarrhea. Just a thought.
Was the prey frozen thawed and is there a chance it was not thawed all the way and or rotting or off. Also thoughts.
