I sure wish I were back in the states. It will be a few more days, but I will try to talk my wife into taking some more current pics of them. I think the reason the last update was deleted is because a reference was made to someone's website concerning additional pics of the golden corn babies (even though they are sponsors of one of the forums here).
Well, here's what happened this year: I bred the biggest male baby from last year's clutch to its' mother. He was not very big, (just under two feet), so he was only able to fertilize 4 out of 16 eggs that the mother laid. Out of those four eggs, 2 came out looking normal, with orange and red, and 2 came out with NO RED or ORANGE! So I am pretty excited to know that I have what appears to be 2 baby golden corns so far. Unfortunately out of last years' babies (12), only 4 are females, so I will probably have some golden corns next year, but not too many. But it is great to know that this IS a genetic trait that seems to have proved out finally!
I will post some pics of those two little ones AND at least one of their siblings (for comparison) as soon as my wife takes more pics of them. She always tells me she hates taking snake pics, because they won't sit still for her . . . Thanks for understanding AND your patience,
Zee
