Panther Aggression

pittbulldog Nov 04, 2006 05:09 PM

Is it normal for a Panther Cham to become more aggressive during a shed. My Panther is about 6 months old, and I've had him for 2 months. This is the 3rd shed I've seen. I was cleaning out his cage, and feeding him, and I noticed that he started puffing up and opening his mouth. When I got near him, he snapped at me. Normally he tolerates me handling him pretty well. Is this normal behavior? Thanks.

Update: The day after I wrote this, he let me touch him no problem. But since that day, he's been an angry little lizard.

Here are some pics. The last two are ones that I took the day he started becoming aggressive. http://www.fototime.com/inv/51DB4A33B792A24

What color shirt were you wearing??
It has been proven that they respond to brightly colored clothes (i.e. red; orange; yellow)

I'm not sure. I'm wearing a black sweatshirt right now. Let me check...Still nasty. I also tried with a white t-shirt I have on underneath, and he let me get a lot closer without puffing up. Interesting. Maybe I'll try him with just the t-shirt after he's eaten. Thanks for the info.
