i am thinking about getting a uromastyx (ornate) when i get my own place next fall. what i was wondering is:
>Is it better to get 1 or 2? i'm thinking i may want to breed them, but i am also worried about playing favorites, or having to make another cage.
>how much would 2 eat per week? about how many grams? (or whatever measurement you want to use)
>any cool tips, or special adaptations for for housing 2?
>i am planning on using bird seed, is there anyway to make a substrate that they can burrow and eat like the birdseed?
>can somone give me an indication of how much the food would cost per month or year?
thanks for all the info, i love this site and these animals

P.S. i am not new to reptiles, i have 2 snakes and frogs.

If you're looking at ornates and not wanting two cages, I would definitely suggest only one animal. Any pair of uros has a chance of not getting along - if you have two animals, you need two cages ready at any given time. However, ornates are known for being cranky cagemates. My pair certainly cannot be housed together.
