My male RES just turned 2 years and in the past few weeks he has gone completely insane. He got a new rock which he fell in love with and spends all day biting it - can this hurt him? The rock seems unaffected. When I walk into the room he goes bonkers against the side of his tank, slamming into it like he has something very important to tell me or else he just wants out. I've tried feeding him more, thinking maybe he was having a growth spurt and just hungry, but he doesn't seem to want more food. Is he ok or what? He looks ok, big & strong & all that, I'm just worried about his mental state.

I can't help but laugh @ your post. My RES, Cabo, has the same personality. We have just wrote him off as a freak and left it at that.
