Uncanny timing you have! It just so happens that I caught my first Uromastyx (from my current tour out here) today! He's a big one, and I took lots of pics of him! I'll post them later hopefully. The Uro's are quite common in a lot of areas here and I caught and released a whole bunch of them when I was here in 2002 & 2003 - one was almost three foot long and probably weighed around 5 pounds!
Other thann the Uro I found today, I've seen TONS of geckos,one sand boa (about 11" long), a few scorpions a camel spider and that's about it. It is the end of the dry season, so this is the worst time to find reptiles (and most Uros stay in their long burrows and don't even come out), but they will become active in about another month or two. The rainy season is just about to begin (we've had a drizzle shower a few days ago, which was our first rain since I've been here - I got here in May). So soon, I should be finding more stuff - especially Uro's & vipers!
