If the morph is produced by a recessive mutant like albino, breeding it to a normal is most likely to be for minimizing the inbreeding.

If the morph is produced by a dominant or codominant mutant, like pastel or spider, breeding it to normals is a cheap way of producing more of the morph animals. A pastel ball python with a pastel mutant gene paired with a normal gene can be mated to a normal ball python, which has two normal genes. Half of their babies have are normal because they got a normal gene from both parents. The rest of the babies are pastels because they got a pastel mutant gene from the pastel parent and a normal gene from the normal parent.
