well i have two dragons that are not growing when i first bought them they were biger than the other ones since i have five well they both have unbeliveable colors and are not growing one is jab hes a male he was one of the first ones i got the other one is stab he is the same age but biger after crikets nibled on his foot he stoped growing why i dont noe he stayed at 9 inches while stab grew to 16 inches now. my other dragon thats not growing is cortana when i bough her from caliente dragons she was the bigest but now my other small female grew biger than her and they are now 4 months old almost five and she as not shed and show any growth. neither dragon has shed their body parts the only shed their head once and that was it.
their feding schedule is this
they eat crikets everyday two to three times a day
i feed them dusted crikets once a week with reptivtive. they wer eating vegies but iv stoped since im seing on the news that people are messing with vegetables and putting on stuf to mess up people .
they always have water
their light stays open from 6 am to about 8 to 9 pm
their temperatures are between 91 degress ferenheit to 105
their alll in reptile carpets no sand i clean their tanks every other day unless im really busy that month then i clean it once a week both the dragons are kept seperate well sorta sice my females are in a difrent tank than the males i have three males two are mine one is my brothers i keep them in a 55 galoon tank and the femles in a 28 gallon tank the males are sperated since i have split the tank but the females are togethere their uvb/uva are repti glow 8.0 15w and their basking lamp has a 75w repti glow bulb for both tanks and the 55 gallon has a big heat mat since that tank is harder to keep warm

if any one noes why two of my dragons are not growing plese let me noe asap.

... you haveing them housed together, and not haveing UVB lighting on them. I cant really tell from your post. Slow down when you type so readers dont have to stumble through it, and you can get much better answers...

well you just lost some money because i do have uvb lights and yeah they are beaignhouse togethere

A lot of times when two dragons are housed together while growing up there is issues with domination. One will be more outgoing and take more than its share of food. Also, maybe they are both males? thats always a fun situation...

Simple solution: separate them.

well both of the dragons that are not growing up are difrent sexes one is a female and one is a male and they both live in difrent tanks the females do live two gethere since i have two of them but i do feed tem alot of crikets sometimes they just look at the criket and dont even eat it because they have had their filth but with the other dragon he is a male and lives in a tank with two other males however the tank is splint in three parts and yes they have enough space since i am currently building a new set of 3tanks staked on top of each other but their made of wood so t gets hotter faster in there. inside the three tanks will be the three males in difrent tanks of course and ill use the 55 galon for the females.

So you're saying that you have a 55g tank (4 foot) divided into 3 sections leaveing you with 16"x12" sections. then you have either a 9" or 16" dragon in it and you're wondering why it not growing properly?

dude for a month... not evan for a few minutes would i put a bearde ddragon in some thign that small... thats the cause of not growing

mindlessvw Nov 08, 2006 03:32 PM

I have a suggestion...instead of keeping them in those particular cages for the next month put them in rubbermaid tubs. I know they aren't very pretty but they would be functional for now until the other ones are built. I am sure you can pick those up at a wal mart

ORLANDO377 Nov 08, 2006 06:14 PM

thnx midelw sry i cant spell ur name but you responded the nicest and for taht i thank unlike these other people snaping at me like if iwas steping on the dragons sheesh thnx for oyur nice reply

mindlessvw Nov 09, 2006 10:04 AM

I would say try that though i think it would be beneficial to your animals...and you wouldn't be in such a time crunch to get the new cages built...you could take a little longer and have fun with it!
