Western Hermanns

I purchased some western hermanns and was concerned when somebody contacted me saying that Janie from upsale reptiles was selling hybrids of eastern and western? Is this true. She seems very nice and caring.

Before posting it to a forum you should contact Janie directly and ask to see pictures of the parents. Also ask her directly about your concerns. I think she has an idea of what she is doing as far as tortoises are concerned.

As far as Janie being nice and caring... there is no doubt.

On another note...if they are hybrids maybe they are not valid subspecies... but that's still another 'discussion'.

Another common aspect of tortoise keepers is 'back biting'. As far as I'm concerned, it's a major draw for me to this hobby. It gives me some entertaining insight into the personalities of people and the world of tortoise keeping.

I spoke to Janie from upscale reptile. She does have Westerns and I would recommend buying tortoises from her.
