What odor control/air purifiers does anyone use in their rodent or reptile rooms? I have a small one that isn't putting a dent in the rodent odors. Any models recommended?
Thanks,
Steve Harrison

Although expensive, Ionic Breezes from the Sharper Image(I recommend the GP model) may be the greatest thing ever invented. They simply flat out work. I'll bet you if you buy one, you'll soon buy more for the rest of your house, they are that good.

add a little vanilla extract to your rodents water. I tried it and it really does help! I'm using 8 oz water bottles and add just a drop of the extract.

Is that real vanilla extract you're using? If so, you might be making the rodents happy while you're making them smell better! Hah. I think probably all vanilla extract has it, but real extract is quite alcoholic. Good idea though. I'll give it a shot today and see what happens.

It's pure vanilla extract and I had thought of that. It could also explain why the birth rates have gone up lately (joke).
On a more serious note, I haven't observed any "tipsy" behavior so it's probably not enough alcohol for them to get drunk on. I figure 1 drop of the extract for a mouse would be about equal to you or I having a beer or glass of wine plus it's then diluted in 8oz of water. Give it a shot (pun intended) it has noticably reduced the rodent smells in my room.
