Ordering rats...

dmac Nov 06, 2006 07:08 PM

It's been a while since I've ordered, I only have 2 snakes. If I want a rat the size of a dollar bill (tip of nose to butt) how much is that in grams normally? I'm talking "ballpark" here. I don't have a scale, and as I remember, sizes vary wildly amongst suppliers.

it seems like they are always low on large rats when I call, But I've always received a great product at low prices.

I've used both Rodent Pro and American Rodent Supply. Very similar in price with shipping... but I was MUCH more impressed with how clean and neatly packed the feedrs from American Rodent Supply were. My feeders from RodentPro seem to always have a lot of urine/bedding mixed in and the rats are just piled into a bag. ARS feeders are lined up neatly in heavier bags and are usually very clean.

Just my experience. Most large breeders do have size guidelines and photos on their websites.
