URGENT injured female red eared slider

CasualKarma Nov 07, 2006 07:31 AM

My female red eared slider climbed out of her tank and fell nearly 3 feet to the ground. She now has a large black bubble of flesh protruding from her anus. Its about the size of a marble. It shrank considerably over the last few hours. I cannot get her to the vet until tommorrow, so i wanted to know if anyone could help me with this. Has anyone had this happen before or know what is protruding from her? Thank you for your help.

Sounds like a prolapse. You need to keep it clean, not let it dry out and get her to the vet ASAP. It may work itself back in but a vet is imperative.
