Gecko Help

sugarz210 Nov 07, 2006 06:42 PM

Hi,
I have a female whiteline gecko in a tank with a male. The female hides all the time, and when I do see her, I've noticed that she is very skinny. I have only seen her hold her head up once, so I'm not sure that's the problem. Is there any way I could get her to eat? Since she is whiteline, I can't handle her because they get very fidgety and nervous.

Hi, seems to me if she hides all the time, then she must be stressed / sick.
I certainly would seperate the 2, he may be stressing her, and if shes ill it would be a good idea to get them away from one another anyway.

Make sure temps are where they should be, see how she does apart from him.

First thing I would have to ask is has she been treated for parasites? This could also cause major problems, as far as appetite/weight lose.
I would not wait to long to find out whats wrong, once they get really thin they can go down hill quick.

So guess my answer is seperate, make sure temps are correct, and have a fecal done to check for parasites as soon as you can.

Hope she will be okay, let us know
