Hey all,
Just a silly novice question. I've been raising and breeding snakes for awhile... I purchased, as a male, a gtp, a bit back.
Then I purchased, as a female, another gtp. Upon being introduced... the 'female' began to court my 'male'. I noticed a couple hours after putting them together as 'she' spurred and eventually managed to get my 'male' to loosen up and allow 'her' to join their vents. I cannot see the hemipenes... but my 'male' is allowing it all.
IS it possible that BOTH breeders incorrectly sexed my gtps? I know they can be difficult to sex. I am going to be taking my 'male' to be resexed by MB reptiles, my local reptile specialist. I am nearly positive, given the 'females' reaction and courting of my 'male' that she herself is definitely a male... so it is my hope to discover the true sex of the 'male' i've already had this whole time. I read that males are territorial... perhaps 'he' is just submissive to this new male?
Opinions please!!!?
Thanks all!
Stephanie S.
