glow before they go

dnreptiles Nov 08, 2006 02:00 PM

Does that apply to getting ready to lay eggs or ovulation? I have a 04 het female that is slightly under weight. She locked up with a male albino in hopes of sparking her feeding response which it did. Last night I was cleaning cages and stop and stared in confusion as I thought I had a diff snake. I can only describe her as glowing. She shed about a week ago too. Any ideas or opinions?

Generally the "glowing" happens before ovulation.

ah [bleep]. Not to sound like a dumb ass but this is my 1st year breeding. They will ovulate more than once right?

Nope females will only ovulate once per year.

Don't sweat it... I don't know what your breeding schedule has been like, but you probably shouldn't expect ovulation until late feb, at the earliest. just keep breeding her and watching.

You said that you put her in with a male to stimulate her feeding? And it worked? Once my girls see a male they normally start to refuse food and dont eat again steadily till after they lay, with a few exceptions. But i have never had a female eat better after being introduced to a male. How many times have you done this? just curious to see if it has worked for others.
Thanks
