First time rodent order.....

gant77 Nov 08, 2006 03:46 PM

I ordered 50 rats from RoodentPro and they arrived today. I thawed a couple out using a hot water soak. After thawing I noticed one had both back legs breaking off at the "knee" and one whos skin opened up while the snake was eating it and it looked for a second that the skin was going to peel off.
Is there anything I can do to prevent any breakage or peeling? Was the water too hot? I didn't let it come to a boil but it was almost at a simmer when I put the bags in and pulled it off the heat... Thanks for any advice!

dont use water. Just let the mice thaw overnight in the fridge and then warm up to room temp before feeding the next day.
