I'm guessing since they are all cleaned up they are now, he kept them. Really ashame if that is the case.
I was thinking the same thing.
Me as well. I wonder if he/she has any conception as to how vital a single adult female turtle is to the population. Annual losses of only 3-4% due to collection of adults is enough to push a population to extinction over time. Given that populations are incredibly small and isolated in most areas to begin with, this number could be as small as just a few individuals.
That post was written assuming the animals were collected.
