at the death of my other carolinensis...old age (i got him as an adult from a very bad petstore and i kept him for 4 years)i just bought another. she is a little female... i mean little, she is 5 inches from her snout to her tail(well not anymore becuase she came to me with a pinched tail which i had to take off.) and i was going to breed her with my established male. he is large!!! very big. his snout to tail is about 7.5 inches but his body is like as long and wide as my thumb. he is in a custum built cage with a a. segrei(no problems) and the lil female is in a 10 gallon so she isnt so stressed around them. when i introduce the male into her cage he bobs with dewlap and she bobs without one. then he tries to catch her but she always gets away from him... or so i thought. yesterday she layed an egg but when i got home it was on the hammock... under the heat lamp...grr. so it was dried up. it may have been from before... where i got her from she was in with males(this was a much better store though)becuase ive only had her since last sunday. so i will keep trying to breed her... i remember a bunch of u asking about cb anoles.. so here u go... if i dont sell them tho... they will prolly go to the knight or the kingsnake unfortunately....i still dont know if i can make myself do that yet.
anyway. since i got her she has been nothing but brown.. i dont get it. i have never had an anole be like this all the time. she has optimal temps, hiding places, climbing places, water, food, and basking spots. what more does she want?? the only time she will turn green is if she is on my hand... which i dont like to do becuase ive always heard it was bad in all my years of herp keeping and breeding. sigh.
if anyone has any ideas just tell me!
