aluminum foil instead of pond liner?

im making a shallow river in my viv and was thinking about laying aluiminum foil for the river since im having a hard time finding pond liner.to my knowladge aluminum foil doesnt degrade and it doesnt rust. so would there be any problems using it?

I'm having a hard time picturing this from the persepctive of a dart frog vivarium, where you don't necessarily need a "pond liner." Can you give more details about the over-all plan? For the present, however, don't consider "aluminum foil" for whatever it is you are planning. It's ultimately too fragile to work for very long, since it is a "foil," will crack and break, leak, etc.

ok,ill try look harder for pond liner. The plan is to have a waterfall in the back right hand corner and the water that falls from the waterfall falls into a small pool that connects to a river that runs throght the middle of the tank. And at the end of the river is a little pond. I Need the pond liner so i can carve out the river and lay down the liner so the water doesnt soak strait throught the substrate.
