Where to find E-Channel

hedo Nov 09, 2006 12:09 AM

I am looking for Sliding Panel Track or I think its called E-Channel to hold glass panels for custom cages (the track/channel Vision Cages use). I remember seeing posts on where to find them but could not find the post (expired maybe?). Home Depot had some made by Stanley in the hardware department but there was only one and they were being clearenced out. Anyone know any stores or websites that would carry this type of product?

thanks
josh

I had the same problem. I am cheap and everywhere online had it for 13.00 four a 1/4 inch four foot section. I was lucky and got it at my local hardware store. I paid $7.50 for a four foot section. Here is the webpage for the company that sells the material. They said you could special order it at lowes. If you need some and still have no success. Email me. I might be able to help more.

You can also try your local glass guy, thats where I special order mine from. I had to order 12' lengths but the price was pretty good per foot so it didn't bother me. I ordered a crap load years ago and still have a lot left. I also reuse from old cages.

Good Luck

What did you use to attach it to the cage. I was going to use a brad nail and some glue. I really liked your cages. Todd

Loctite makes a product similar to liquid nails but completely different, I use that. It works great and has never come loose, at the same nime it isn't hard to remove later on, remember I reuse my, well I reuse everything!

Thanks!

Thanks for the help guys, I knew I could count on this forum for help. I ended up calling Stanleyhardware.com and they make a plastic Sliding Panel Track. Its part #403426. It comes in 6' sections with a top AND bottom for a 1/4" glass/panel and it retails for $10.75. They also said that any Home Depot or Lowes can order it directly from them but you have to buy a case (comes in a 6 pack). So I went to my local Home Depot and had them order me a sixer, since they were on clearance I got them for $7.99 each and since I ordered them from the store, they will be shipped to my house in 7-10 days FREE of charge! My total came be around $54.00 which works out to be a $1.50 a foot for 36 feet! My lucky day, it pays to dig around and be persistent!

Do you remember which loctite product you used. I would prefer that to liquid nail. Incase I have to reuse the track or make errors on my first try.

This one;

All the power grab's are essentially the same IMO.
