Lost and Found

Today, after work, I discovered a snake in my toilet. I was rather surprised to head into the bathroom, ready to take a seat and do my duty when I spotted a large adult BRB coiled up in the toilet bowl. Then I realized it was my Male BRB. For a second I thought had suddenly acquired a third BRB LOL

As water in the toilet bowl is rather cold, it was easy to get him out. I put him someplace a bit warmer, checked his cage and sure enough the cage was empty (well, I hoped maybe it was an identically colored and patterned BRB that wanted a new home LOL). I must not have closed the lid securely enough when I replaced the water a couple days ago.

Looks like he managed yet again to flip over his ceramic water dish, became rather thirsty and decided to drink out of my toilette. Now he has a more wider based water dish (cat water dish basically) hopefully he won't tip this one over and I double checked to make sure the lid was securely closed and added a few extra clamps along the edge and some heavy binders, just in case.

It certainly was nice to find my snake before I even realized he has escaped

I am also glad I found it tonight, instead of having my mother who is coming to visit tomorrow, find the discovery.

Yet another reason why I need to build my new snake rack soon....not that he will be put in it right away, he's still in quarantine.

If it were me. I'd be half tempted to leave him there until tomorrow

It's funny to me how many times I've heard of people finding snakes in their toilets. Not as funny as the image of some non-snake person lifting the lid and shrieking at the top of their lungs. man, that's the stuff of nightmares.

Glad you found him.

Thanks for the info on tracer rounds. You learn something new every day.

I should have taken a picture of it...but at the time, I really had to 'go' LOL So only had time to move the snake and do what I had to do. Otherwise, i would have snapped a few pictures. Then again I could always put him back in and take picture. But that water is cold...I hope he doesn't get sick for being that cold for who knows how long.

Glad to help on the tracer round question. It was a question I asked long ago, after watching a war movie with flashing bullets, of a friend of mine who was really into things military (I think he was in the reserves at the time but he couldn't stay due to physical injuries (bad knees)) Before I found out, I had thought it odd to have bright flashing lights representing machine gun fire as it looked rather fake at the time (it's night, and bullets go too fast when fired to actually be reflecting light from somewhere but don't move fast enough to give a 'warp speed' streak). And there you go, how I learned what tracer rounds are.

A soldier sitting in the dark trying to shoot something he can barely see, it certainly would be nice to see your bullets are on target. Otherwise, you could be shooting at the ground or off to the side. Afterall, very hard to see your sites or through a scope when its too dark.
