Now that looks to me exactly what I would think a wild caught Thayeri would look like. I like them.
Ken
I like those. Are they the only ones you kept from that clutch? I think they are certainly worth having for adding genetic diversity to today's thayeri. I wonder if they carry any genes for green in them. I remember gray and green leonis were the standard before orange sorta took over. There are some nice greens still today but most of them seem to have orange tails. The ones of old didn't often have orange tails, sometimes pale yellowish gray but not orange.
Thanks Aaron, yes they do carry the gene for green leonis, out of there siblings I had 4 greens. I kept one, 2 got loose and haven't found them, 1 didn't make it out the egg. This year I was awaiting greens again but I didn't get any.
The weird thing about last year is the female double clutched and only had greens in the first clutch. I have kept most of them from all 3 clutches that were produced, Ken Casstevens has a pair and I sold 1 male to a local guy and I gave my Mother a msp phase male. Here is a picture of the one I have left. The sun washed his color out but he is a light green grey, he has no other color except his saddles. I hope he will be of breeding size next year, I am getting a green F1 female from Tim G to go with him, she is also gray green with a yellowish tail. I like the fact she is a F1 so I am excited on getting her in. I can't wait to have them paired since they are both from wild stock animals. I will try at the first sign of sun to get you some better pics of him.
take care,
