It'll be our first herp show for my daughter and myself and I was just wondering if anyone else might be there? It'd be great to talk to any of you in person!
Thanks!

Hey Judy!
Unfortunately, since I live in TX, I can't make it. Please post back and let us know how the show was. One thing to remember, you better take some money. There WILL be things there you will want to buy. LOL!
How is your new cape doing?

*LOL* It's funny...I held off on getting to "into" the herp thing until we moved because I didn't want to try and move a snake right after buying it. We moved from Texas...and now I'm meeting all these cool TX herpers! Where are all you VA herpers???
Thanks for the interest, Billy! We haven't even had him a week yet, but so far so good. He spends most of his time in his hidey, but comes out every now and then. Today, he "disappeared." I figured he'd buried himself in the substrate, but I also found a little trail of it up along the glass wall all the way to the top! I didn't figure he could get out of the lid, but I've heard too much of "Nothing is 100%" to take any chances.
I got my daughter and very carefully we lifted the stuff out of the cage and sifted our fingers through the substrate. She found him in the corner, buried, wrapped around his water dish. Since we disturbed him that much, I figured I'd give in to her pleadings to pick him up for the first time since bringing him home. I was truly impressed. She very gently uncovered him and picked him up with such quiet confidence that he didn't even flinch. He lay curled and still in her hand for a moment, then began to explore, crawling all over her arms. It seemed he only started getting annoyed when she wouldn't let him go exactly where he wanted to, so she put him back in and we put his home back in order.
Last I checked, when I turned his light down tonight, he was buried beside his dish again. Can't wait for his first feeding this weekend!
Sorry for the long post but I just had to brag on my daughter!
