Question about a feeding dish..

pspguy Aug 07, 2003 09:34 AM

Okay, I'm using a round ceramic feeding dish similar to what you'd see for hamsters. The thing is, Nannar didn't touch the mealies I put in it. Should I account that for the fact she only wants crix, or that its too deep and she doesn't know they're in there?

My bet is that she doesn't know they're in there. Those hamster dishes are pretty deep though. You can try a more shallow dish, or even a clear one. Wave them in front of her before you put them in there.

I just drop the mealies in front of my leos one by one. Using chopsticks.

Hey there,
Well, it could be both. If the dish is too tall and the gecko is not big enough she might not be aable to see them. Or, if she sees them she might not like mealies. It really depends upong the gecko...if they are used or not to eat mealies. Sometimes, they can be really picky. But hopefully, she will get use to them

probally does not know they are there. Leos depend on site and movement to eat alot of times. If they cant see the wiggleing they don't really know it is there. I have seen superworms hold still right under a leos nose and they don't even see them but when they move about a little, zap.
