Chip is home again

PHRatz Nov 10, 2006 08:43 AM

Chip ended up staying the night in the hospital because a big emergency came in & they didn't get to him Wed. I got him back yesterday morning.
He had new acrylic applied and I was thrilled again when I got him back. He no longer has an entire plastron covered in acrylic, he now has just a patch. I need another photo now, I'll have to wait until the weekend again to get that.

He seemed so happy to be home. I took him outside for sun yesterday afternoon since it was mid 80s. I was looking around for some food for him but didn't find any. Under the porch is usually a good place to find fresh grubs but yesterday the ground was too dry. He kept walking up looking into my face. I guess he knew what I was doing & was waiting for food. LOL.
I took that to mean he's happy to be out of the hospital & back home.
I admire that boy a lot for being such a fighter.

Thank you! His injuries are the worst I've ever dealt with in one that actually lived.
I am so happy for him.. I just can't even explain how seeing him recover makes me feel.

Congratualtions on his return Had someone else taken him in, they probably wouldn't have spent the time or money to treat him like you have. He is very lucky to have you! (Especially since you're willing to hunt around for grubs for him! Ewww )

ROFL!!
I had green anoles often when I was a kid so I spent many years bug hunting. Today it just seems like a normal thing to do.
Once we took in the sulcata I started weed hunting as well.
Fortunately today most of my neighbors know about the sulcata & when they see me out with nets or plastic bags full of weeds they don't think anything of it LOL!
Of course if I'm bug hunting at home people probably think I'm just gardening. hee hee

Thank you for the kind words.
