First, I made up the F1.5 designation to represent a CBB x WC offspring.

These eggs were laid in June of 2005. Yes, 2005. They started to collapse and change color a few weeks ago. I finally cut them open today. The first one was dead for some time. The second one is alive though it has a huge yolk sac. I left the other three alone and will let them go a bit longer before I cut them out. 17 months of incubation is well above my previous average of 6-7 months. That is also longer than anything published I have seen (although I can think of only Bennett's reference of 327 days). I kept them cooler than most incubation temperatures because I was experiencing some problems with small hatchlings in previous clutches. These were kept at 79-81 degrees Fahrenheit (26-27 degrees Celsius) with occasional unplanned spikes higher. I guess we will see if the other three eggs make it. I did raise the temperature a bit and add some water to the substrate.
