PA Box Turtle habitat ~

Tektum Nov 11, 2006 03:24 PM

This is a photo of habitat wher I have found a number of Box Turtles (including the male in female from earlier posts). Kind of like the one that was removed a couple of days ago.
Not sure if you can see my vehicle in the southern part of this picture, but it can give you perspective on my location.

What a beautiful area. No wonder you find so many turtles there. Thanks for sharing

Thanks I spend most of my free time hiking in an effort to get good photos of wildlife. I primarily look for Invertebrates, snakes and other herps. I wish I could post some of the other critters on this site too!
So many people are so blind to all of the
not so obvious wildlife around them ~ Anyways, later on i'll post a really cool picture I took in prime Box Turtle habitat. thanks! Leo

You are so right about that. I can be outside talking to a neighbor at dusk & see a nighthawk fly by.. I'm standing there in awe they didn't even notice anything.
Yesterday we went to someone's home in the country & on the way we saw a red tailed hawk perched on a telephone pole. I was so upset that I did not have my camera with me but ya know other people driving that highway probably didn't even notice.
I love the wildlife & I can't get over sometimes how much is in my own yard, I take a lot of photos because I have to.

Thanks for posting all the great photos! I may not comment on all of them but I do look at them all.
