Basically, it means to inhale something. If you aspirate water, you inhale it into your lungs. My sister aspirated a grape, and developed pneumonia and had to go to the hospital to have it removed. She was 45 at the time...silly girl.

I don't mean to laugh but how did a 45 y.o. woman inhale an entire grape??

That's OK, laugh. We all did! 
She was eating grapes, and started to laugh (uh-oh....don't read this while eating) and whoop! Sucked it in. She's a nurse, too, which makes it all the more ironic.
