Just make sure your tank has spacers underneath it so there is airflow to the heating pad. Otherwise it will overheat and probably cause a fire.

okay thanks alot you just saved my life man
in all reality if you have a reostat or thermostat on it probally not, but I do not recomened it if it was to short out it could catch fire. I had a zoo-med UTH get a bad spot in it and almost catch a wooden shelf on fire and it was on the bottom of the tank and raised. The proper way to use a UTH is tpo stick it to the bottom of the glass (all I have ever seen have a sticky side). They also most of the time come with little pieces to put on the corners of the tank to raise it like 1/2 inch off the surface it is setting on if not put something under the sides to keep it up for proper air flow so heat does not build up. By sticking it directly to the glass you get better heat transfer through it to the inside of your tank.

I met them at the Sacramento show last weekend and he showed me this pad. They are not heat strips more like an UTH but you don't stick it onto the glass, your container or tank. The enclosure just sits on top of this pad. It works on wood, glass and plastic containers without needing the extra space gap like the UTH. The hottest this pad will get is about 20F degrees above your room temperature so a rheostat or thermostat might not be necessary but that depends on the area you are living in. They are made in Scotland, very well made and not too expensive either. I bought one but haven't tried it out yet.
okay i will check it out thanks alot if any more information turns up tell me
