aspen aroma question

I've been keeping 2.2 womas on shredded aspen for some time now, and have always used the most finely shredded available. I just cleaned their enclosures, and was only able to find the more coarsely shredded aspen. It's labeled as 100% pure aspen, but I noticed a stronger aroma than what I'm used to. Has anyone experienced this or had any problems with this type of aspen? Thanks

Most aspen shouldn't smell too bad. I find that the KAYTEE brand always has some odor. Its perfectly safe to use, but if I were a snake I wouldn't want to be smelling that so I usually pour out the bag into a garbage can to let it air out for a day or two before I use it.
