Its about 8" long, it has the same strip pattern as a easten garter snake, but much darker. It also has a red belly. This snake was caught two days ago in Wi. Last night it had 10 little ones. I would like to id it and place all 11 snakes back in the wild. I use to raise kingsnakes when I was younger, but now I have no time to care them. Any help would be great,

Thanks
Rick

(Storeria occipitomaculata). Brown snakes (S. dekayi, formerly known as DeKay's snake) may have a pink belly, but normally not a red one.
