howdi.
first of all, sorry for the bad english. im coming from israel, so english isnt that good.
ok, so i have a couple of questions. about Argentinian Rainbow boa.
1.does anyone has any exprience with these guys?
2.if yes, please say whats their temperment and thier behavior.

and about the BRB, i really want one.
but i heard that they can get to 7 feet-which is too big for me right now.
but in the other hand, i saw some 5 years old brazillian that was 5-6 feet.
what do you say? can i go on a brazillian or stick with the Argentinian?

thanks a lot.

The only thing i know about Argeninian Rainbows is that they are not at pretty as Brasillians!

Brazillians get 5'-7' but its not nearly as big as you think, rarely will a fully grown rainbow get more then 10lbs. They arn't thick bodied snakes so a 7' rainbow isnt nearly as massive as some 4-5' snakes.

If ever a 7' snake was manageable it would be a BRB

There are some folks here with a few adult BRB's you should ask them to post pics, im sure they will be more then happy

...I keep and breed both of these subspecies of Rainbow Boas. Most adult Argentinian Rainbows are less than 5 feet long. I did have one several years ago that was 5.5 feet long. Adult female Brazilian Rainbow Boas usually grow over 6 feet long. Males are smaller with most but not all of them under 6 feet in length. Those five year olds are mature but not fully grown. Snakes grow rapidly for the first few years and then continue to grow slowly throughout their lives. These snakes are not as big bodied as Boa Constrictors and a 6 foot Rainbow Boa is a much smaller snake than a six foot long Boa Constrictor. The temperment of both of these snakes are good. Bites from little ones are totally painless and if you handle them and do not flinch or move away when they strike they will quickly learn that they cannot eat you and that striking does not make you go away. With regular handling they will become used to you and not strike. I know there are people breeding Brazilian Rainbows in Israel but I do not know about any Argentinians being available there.
Good luck,
Jeff

as far as i know there was 1 clutch or two, and non were for sale.
and really, its not the problem of having a 7 foot snake, i just dont have the space for a 7 foot encolusre.
so if i want a rainbow boa, i need to ask an importer to import a CBB for me from the US or europe. i cant just go to a site and order.
i dont have a room for a 2 meters enclosure.
but now ive got another problem with argntinie, they are not as avilable as the Brazillian, so im not sure if i could get one.
oh, and if you could post a pic of one of your argenetiniens it would be great, cuz i was in your site. but there arent much pictures of ARB, so if you could post a pic of one it would be great.

As far as i knew a 7' snake doesnt need a 7' encloser, My snake is starting to get longer then her encloser and she fits in fine.

Of course it would be nice to be able to have a 7' encloser but like Jeff said, a 7' snake (assuming female) wouldnt happpen for 5 years.
