1 Year of Growth

qroberts Nov 15, 2006 07:28 AM

I've been recording my little girl's (no so little anymore) growth every time I've fed her for a year now and graphed the data.

She's approx 1 year old now and has grown from around 14 inches to just over 41 inches.

I'm going to keep going until her growth levels off and will post the graph again in another year.

Measurements were made in the same box with a standard length measure using snake widgets. View the enlarged image to see the graph more clearly.

Enjoy.

I'm curious to see when she starts tapering off.

I'm guessing sometime in the spring she'll slow down a good deal.

Otherwise she'd be 7 feet long this time next year.

It is fun to track growth in snakes. Sometimes it is amazing to see old pictures of how small they were.

It's an excel graph. You'd be surprised with how many tools they have hidden in there.

It's nice to have a tangible record of growth. I see her every day and I would never have noticed if she grew an inch in 3 weeks.

How often are you feeding though? From 14 inches to 41 inches in 12 months is huge from my standards.

qroberts Nov 20, 2006 09:54 AM

Right now she's eating 1 weanling every 7 days.

I thought it seemed like a lot of growth too.
