Discharge from Vent?

SJL Nov 15, 2006 08:45 AM

I just got a columbia boa who is 3 years old. He's a little skittish when I first take him out of his habitat but settles down nicely. He seems to be very healthy. A couple of times he has discharged something (musk?) from his vent. Is this because he is scared, perhaps from not being used to being handled? I know colubrids do this but not sure about boas.

your boa could very well have musked or how do i put this hmmmm lets see well blunt is the only way it can be put but i'll be clean about this he let his belongings loose. the only other things it could be from are either internal paracites ,diarrhea,or a prolapse,i would suggest you keep a good eye on your boa and if this continues take your boa to a vet asap .
