She's in the blue now. Hopefully it's a pre egg lay shed!

Dibs on babys

minicopilot Nov 15, 2006 01:50 PM

Let's hope she has eggs and lots of them!

Folks, self included, started calling dibs on those babies back in '03, if I remember correctly!! ;0)
I have two gravid YT's, as both my Don Bordner and German gals are obviously gravid and in the blue..

I know of three breeders and one importer working with YT's in Germany, so they shoudln't be impossible to find. If you would like, forward me an e-mail and I will connect you with a source in Europe, as I have a couple from across the pond... ;0)

bob, the drymarchon genus have a long gestation period & don't typically lay until late winter/early spring [usually mid march] when bred in the fall w/ the babies appearing in early summer. i don't know when yours bred exactly but i'm just letting you know so you don't have kittens if she doesn't lay after this shed.....best of luck however!

Don't burst my bubble man!!!!! LOL

dan felice Nov 17, 2006 04:18 AM

i'm just trying to keep your bubble afloat if you think later that you've gone bust. unfortunately, it's just not like corn snakes where you get a mess of eggs only weeks after introduction. a little more patience is needed. one thing though, don't overfeed her as you await the big day! fat females have problems passing eggs. good luck mr. wall!

I was kidding!
I know what to expect. They've been together for a while now and I think they may have hooked up a while ago so she may be due sooner than later.
What ever happens I'm prepared.

So, how's old Cleo doing??

minicopilot Nov 15, 2006 08:20 PM

Hey Dean,

How are you!
Cleo I'm sorry to say passed away early last Spring. That was a very sad day!
I found her coiled up in her hide so she must have went in her sleep.
I tried to measure her, but it was difficult to be accurate. I'm estimating she was about 10 feet if not a bit longer and still thick as hell.
She was awesome! I never got her to breed unfortunately, but it was sure nice to live with a trophy snake like that.
Good to hear from you.
