Hey gang. Well, I’ve had my pyxie for a month or two now. I’ve had hopes of it beign a male for a number of reasons. First off, its growth rate seems to be much greater than his siblings that I saw, and also, he seems to hiss and make honk noises as a defense mechanism. Im not entirely sure if this is a sign of positive sexing...BUT recently, around midnight, while he’s burrowed, I heard a series of 3 or 4 chirps or squeaks. I’ve done searches on this, and have found nothing. At first I thought maybe it was him rubbing on the glass of his tank, but it is much too systematic. Is this perhaps an early vocalization that is made by adolescent/ young male pyxies? He’s about 4.5 inches from rump to nose, and growing.

Thanks for the help in advance guys.
