hypo Stillwater female

KenCasstevens Nov 15, 2006 02:59 PM

I just aquired this hypo Stillwater female about 2 weeks ago. She is flawless, and sweet as can be. She is very light, and almost the same color as the aspen she's on. Let's see. I got my first pit at the end of August, and now she makes the fifth. Hmmmm...could this be an addiction in the making? I believe some of you forwarned me it would be. Oh well, I have had a Thayeri addiction for a while now so I guess one more wouldn't hurt. They do say variety is the spice of life right?

This is a very pretty hypo. I've been thinking about picking up one or two myself, but I need to get a new rack first. Can't wait to see how this girl turns out... do you think she'll keep that nice light color?

Man, I sure hope the color holds, but these guys can have such a dramatic color change from baby to adult that you never know what you'll get. I'm really liking these guys more, and more.

Hi Ken

Nice pick-up. You can never go wrong with Pituophis, not to mention, a Stillwater Hypo too. They are the most "docile" of the bulls IMO. Looking on what you're working with, it looks like we have the same taste on animals. Both sayi and thayeri are beautiful and unique. I just love them both. Congrats and take care.

Thanks Jonel. I'm just now getting into these guys, but I still remember one of the prettiest snakes I've ever seen was your super lime green Thayeri. Do you still have him?

Hi Ken

I'm pretty sure that you'll have fun with the stillwaters. Those are the animals who got me deep into the pituophis, more specifically, the bullsnakes.

I still have that lime green thayeri. He is now a young adult and will be ready to breed next year. He has changed in color a bit and is now a nice light greenish gray with no speckling. He is still one of my favorites since he is very unique looking and is still very beautiful. Watch out in the future to see what he produces. I can't wait already. hehe.

Take care.

Very nice Hypo.
I know what you mean by addictive. I bought my first pit in October, a Hypo Bull. I have since added a Southern Pine and a pair of Albino Sonoran Gophers. I need help.

There is no help for something like this. Do not even try. No cure can be found.

Ah yes, the addiction. I think several of us here have touch of it.

Pituophisititus - an obsessive condition in which an individual wants to collect, photograph, handle, or purchase, any and all type of pituophis species (morphs included). Can be cured in early stages but advanced stages are "usually" only cured by finances or unwilling spouse/mates.

I say, let me suffer.

Yes, this is an addiction, and it only gets worse.

Thanks. I'm finding that out. The guy at the local pet store I got her from had a few, and said a guy breeds them here locally, and he's going to put me in touch with him. This could be bad.....very bad.

She's beautiful. 5 Pits in less than 3 mos? Definitely sounds like addiction to me! See you @ the next Pitaholics Anonymous meeting!
