I love the head pattern on this girl.

Your babies are looking terrific Maria and your site is very very nice! Quite tastefully done and very pleasing to the eye. The title photo of your male on the home page is just spectacular. It shows the beauty of his light pastel color extremely well.
You are bookmarked! You make a friend very proud indeed!
Finally found a photo hosting site that I like...

that allows me to post much better photos...

any way I choose...

and as many as I like.

Now I can have a little more fun with photos!

Mike
....thank you ever so much for the compliments! The website is still pretty basic. I plan on adding a thayeri gallery page as soon as I can take some updated photos of the clan.
That sure is one great photo hosting site you found. Stellar pictures, as always! That last one is a little speckled wonder! Mex mex, I presume?

"Life is like a box of thayeri eggs..."
As always you are more than welcome for the compliments my friend, they are well deserved. Although what you consider basic, your site is nothing less than what I would expect from you and the photos are exceptional. Is that you, or your significant other behind the shutter?!!
I can't wait to see your gallery page. Knowing your thayeri, there will be some serious eye candy to be had without a doubt!
That photo hosting site I chose is called SmugMug and it's the bomb! It costs a few dollars a month, but it's more than worth it for many reasons and exactly what I was looking for. And that last photo above is indeed a little speckled mex mex wonder. Being far beyond my means, sadly, she is something I can only dream of.

You always make me smile, Mike!
I took all of the pictures with the exception of the one on the title page. Brian took that one last summer with a different camera; one that has a macro lens. I'm actually holding the snake in that picture. I think my favorite picture of the babies is the one shown of LMT0608F...the one where she is looking back to the left of the camera. That photo actually reflects her personality (okay..well, temperment) quite well. She is a sweet, timid little thing and probably my favorite because of it.
I'm going to have to check out SmugMug. Thanks for sharing the info!

I'm impressed, I downloaded your clutch photos and one in particular really caught my attention. It's on my desktop and is it ever a fantastic shot! LMT0608Fb... the second pic of your little shy one. There are several excellent shots in the bunch and they all look great, but this is definitely my fav. She sure is a pretty little thing, and I can see her timid nature in her posture. That little tail wants to grab onto something and hold on tight!
By the way, you do know those smiles are contagious, don't you?!!

-----
Mike
Very contagious, indeed
I really liked that 2nd pic as well. In fact, I couldn't decide which photo to use between the two so I figured I might as well list 2 pictures for all the babies. A fair decision for the undecided....
...and you are right about that little tail. Everytime I pick her up she wraps that little tail around my pinkie finger ever so tight

Maybe works this way if you put a hat on and a big cheesy smile?
-----
Mike
Yep! Just need a few letters in that smiley!

Mike
There's something weird going on....I guess if you put a "smiley" in the subject line it doesn't post. Hmmm....
Anyway...what I meant to say was...

I saw and read the post just fine the first time when I linked to it from the e-mail notification. I did notice there was no subject while reading it, checked the thread and thought you deleted it intentionally and that I was in big trouble! Didn't notice I couldn't open the post from the thread.

They are all really beautiful, but this one is my favorite. I love the intermediate's.
thanks for the pix's

Michelle
Beautiful snake. I'm sucker for cool head patterns. Awesome web site as well.
Ken
Again, these are beautiful animals. Love the yellow background. I am interested to see how they turn out as adults.

.....I hope they hold their yellow color as they mature. The female with the two little dots holes on her head came out of the egg a muted yellow color, but she gets brighter with every shed.
Nice website, by the way. Your Dan V. animals are looking great!

Hi Maria
Everyone pretty much said what I wanted to say, hehe. Good job. Now, where are the knoblochi pics!?
Take care.

Hi Jonel,
Knoblocki pics are coming soon, but as you know I'm sure, these guys don't like to sit still! I have a few that are still being stubborn feeders and one girl that has such a huge appetite she is easily 3X the size of the others now.
If you decide to let any of those five keepers of yours go, definately let me know. They are just plain awesome!

i was just wondering if living in Alaska is hard as far selling your offspring, on all the classified adds it always says lower 48 and i have always wondered what that meant for the people that are in this hobby in either alaska or hawaii

...that's a very good question, thanks for asking. I haven't actively started to try and sell my offspring yet, although I am not going to place any restrictions on where I am willing to ship to. That is, as long as you live in any of the 50 states in the U.S, I will ship there (assuming of course, weather conditions are favorable). As far as Alaska goes, I believe there is alot of interest locally, which is why I named my website what it is. Just by word of mouth, I've received alot of inquiries and I know there are many reptile lovers that live here who didn't think it was practical or possible to purchase snakes in this state. There is a Petco in Anchorage that has a few underfed and overpriced serpents for sale, but of course they don't sell any food source for these animals which is very irresponsible in my eyes.
Like you, I have noticed that most reptile breeders in the lower 48 only ship to the lower 48. Since moving here, however, I have received snake shipments from some very good people using all three of the major overnight carriers without incident. The only caveat is that the shipment arrives later the next day (no "by 10:30am" option) and the pricing is abit more. Personally, I favor Delta DASH. I shipped my entire reptile, amphibian, and arachnid collection to myself via Delta DASH...from Chicago, Illinois to Anchorage, Alaska...and the shipment arrived the same day with no fatalities.

Good to see you posting again.
Are any of these "Keepers" from the first clutch you posted a pic of before you moved? I don't have the picture anymore, did I guess right?
How did the Mice shed go?
And... Did you start a B. dubia colony?

Hi Rick,
You guessed right. A few of those babies were quite drab out of the egg. They sure have brightened up since then!
Thanks for asking about the mouse shed and roaches; your advice back then was much appreciated
. I decided against building a mouse shed...it seems that Alaska isn't so far away after all. I am able to get frozen mice and rats shipped to me here and I order in bulk, so shipping prices aren't too painful. I was also relieved to find that I could get crickets shipped here too, so I just stuck with my hisser roach colony. In fact, I only started using the hissers for my frogs and tarantulas since winter came, so I have an enormous breeding colony right now. They eat all of my best fruits and veggies and I only get scraps! Oh well...good things "in"...good things "out"!

Maria
"Life is like a box of thayeri eggs..."
I’m with you on the mice-raising thing. I have no desire to keep the little smelly vermin either; except in the freezer. The hissers freak me out too; they are everywhere. I guess in Alaska they have a much harder chance of surviving on their own than here in San Diego.
