Kelly, I noticed you mentioned the Rivas Study as his dissertation sibmitted in may of 2000. I have a copy of his dissertation in december 1999. It is a 168 page pdf titled "The Life History of the Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus): With Emphasis on its reproductive Biology

Am I missing something?

You are correct, the full dissertation is dated May 2000. It has about 300 pages counting the intro sections and table of contents. It also has the same title as the one you have, and you may just have an abbreviated version of the final paper.

It really seems odd there would be an abreviated dissertation submitted a year prior. Where can I get a copy of the 300 page May 2000 edition?

The final submitted dissertation is the May 2000 paper. You will need to get a copy of it from the University of Tennessee through an inter-library loan.
