Snake on a Pumpkin! (version 2.0)

j3nnay Nov 16, 2006 11:48 AM

Do we all remember John (Bb7551) posting pictures of the snake on a pumpkin? If not, here's a quick refresh:

I had a project for an art class that required me to "create a collage/painting with two or more objects that do not belong together", and I had a brilliant idea. I mean, really, snakes and pumpkins? And so, with John's permission, I made a painting out of my favorite picture (the one above).

Keep in mind that's a photograph of the painting, hence the fuzzy feeling, especially on the head. The painting itself is 22" high by about 15" or 16" across, I'm not sure.

thanks for looking!

I swear the painting isn't so washed out in person. Augh! Anyone with digital camera experience have any suggestions on how to avoid the washing out? I don't have adobe photoshop, or else I'd tinker with that...

Hey, stick figures are an art form all in their own, and they can be even more fun than "real" art!
In fact, you can get in a lot of trouble for stick figures. I think my highschool teachers still talk about the "God Is A Stick Figure" debaucle. :D

Nice actually.......

painting is of good color scheme......faded/muted colors are nice......sort of an "inspirational " type painting.....good for that.......artsy,for lack of better word.......IF you wish to be an "artist" the style will be good......IF you wish to be a "natural" or nature artist you will just need to be better at exact scale formations, directions and completions(lack of some labial, supralabial scalation I think it was)......good nature artists are all over and too numerous, and very good....like Ned Smith for lack of other names offhand.........the animal must be exact......too much competition

I personally like it for an art print.......looks cooler that way.........(Van Gogh actually sucked bigtime for exactness)LOL..........yet his "sunflowers" painting fetched what? $6 Mill last time..........

.........keep it up......I stopped art when I stopped school due to seeing how other people were better than me........should have went for it anyways.......then I wouldn't have to get up tomorrow at 3am to go to work......

Thank you The scales on the head were a godawful nightmare, so I claimed creative license and didn't paint them. I love art :D
