appaling attitude problems...

chameleoncrow Aug 07, 2003 01:02 PM

God, sometimes i wonder how some people are able conduct thier business with their appaling attitude. I mean, come on,Is there any chameleon businesses out there that is able to conduct themselves ethically and within human reason anymore? sometimes i think that some people in the chameleon business should step down from their proverbial pedestal and learn a bit of humility. I have never been faced with such unprofessional , unethical and arrogant behaviour before in my life untill i started to deal with chameleon dealers and reptile supply companies. Not of all them are like that, mind you. In fact some could be very nice and professional. I think the best peopel to deal with is the Kammers, Jim from Amazing Blue Reptiles and Stephen from Natural State Shameleons. They are the most helpful and polite people/ cham breeders you can find. Some of the rest are just ridiculous! I am sure a lot of you have had similar...unsatisfactory experiences before. I know i am being very vague here...but i just needed to vent some negative energy. I would be more than happy to warn you about a specific company that even has its advertising space in Kingsnakecham classifieds. Just email me if you would like my two cents. Thanks in advance for giving me some venting space.

Thank goodness that virus hasn't come to our area.....
Hubby and I are still known as the "neat lizard folks"

I agree - when we were starting out with chams (a few years back), we came across some wild attitudes. Some were just plain arrogant, some were "don't bother me"..... We vowed never to be like that. Many won't give you a helpful tip because you might be the competition!! Good grief even!

Our local customers come over for bugs at all hours (we sell them for our cost), and they can call us anytime with any questions. We have even done "house calls" for sick chams - and those folks got their cham elsewhere. We volunteer for schools and stuff - even help out at a couple of pet stores with their set-ups and husbandry (for free). Hubby builds cages for folks (for next to nothing), just so the animals have the proper enclosures.

We never want to be on that list of "bad attitude" reptile sellers.

I am absolutely glad that you practice freindly, ethical behaviour. At least you contribute to the few "neat reptile folks". Its a few people out there hat give us "chameleon people" a bad name. Hope to do business with you in the future. Keep up the good work!

An attitude like this just tells me where the priorities of the people involved lie. If chams were really their top priority they would be helpful and available to anyone with chams who needs them. What is the point in being arrogant and intimidating? It just isolates them from the rest of the cham community. This is not an exact science...there is room for individual approaches to cham care as long as the motivation is good.
